Typhoon Lagoon’s 2018 Party – July 1, 2018
The events at Typhoon Lagoon are great because they are one of the rare opportunities to swim at the parks during the night. There’s plenty of snacks and drinks to go around – however, Alana doesn’t worry about swimming because we have a goal that we’re focused on – rare characters! We arrived early and scoped out the park, putting together our plan for the night. And of course, our focus was characters.
Meeting Scuba Goofy
The slight rain held off right when the party started. Goofy wasn’t worried about the rain, as he came out wearing his lifevest and ready for swimming. We’ve met Goofy wearing this outfit several times in the past. He met at Cape May breakfast wearing this outfit until just recently, and has been spotted at Blizzard Beach wearing it in the past. It doesn’t appear he’s wearing the outfit in these locations anymore, so we’re lucky that we found him wearing it for this party.
Meeting Captain Hook
We then headed towards the back of the park and found Captain Hook with relatively no line. He even sailed into the park in a small ship, which he had parked right next to his photo location. Alana flashed her pirate hook for this great photo.
Meeting a Living Statue
Heading toward the front of the park for the final character of the night, we bumped into the silver statue hanging out. He’s not usually there, so someone must have left him behind for the day. When Alana went to check him out, the statue suddenly came to life. Alana and the statue played for a while before Alana headed out for her final character score.
Meeting Elvis Stitch
And what a score it was! Stitch has been known to hang out at the water parks, but we’ve never heard of him bringing his Elvis suit along! We have met Elvis Stitch during Halloween meets in the past, but it’s always great to see him hanging out. His meet had quite the line as you’d expect, with the outfit being amazing and the location being right next to the entrance. Totally worth the wait.
Towards the end of the party, we met up with Alana’s friend, Quinn (aka Little Peter Pan)! Quinn came dressed like Peter Pan’s shadow. When Quinn found out that Captain Hook wanted to capture Alana and bring him to Neverland, he put up quite the battle to keep Alana safe. In the end, good triumphed over evil and Alana was allowed to stay in Florida.
Once again, Disney outdid themselves with a great party. We’re grateful for the effort that they put into the party. Elvis Stitch was a real treat, Scuba Goofy was a fun find and seeing Captain Hook’s boat was really cool. The next DVC Event is at Epcot and we can’t wait to find out who will appear there!
